“What if Jesus Comes to us hidden in a face the world too often overlooks? That was the question at the heart of Living in Divine Mercy at Equine Dreams. Rick Mason CEO and Board President of Equine Dreams shared his story with the Rockford chapter of Servi Christi on Tuesday, July 21 at Franchesco’s Ristorante. Through moving stories, the words of St. Faustina, and the example of Christ Himself, those in attendance were invited to see people with disabilities not as recipients of our compassion, but as extraordinary teachers of faith who reveal God’s love in a profound way. The evening challenged everyone to look beyond ability, beyond labels, and beyond excuses—to recognize Jesus in every person we meet and to ask whether our hearts are truly open to His presence.
The presentation also celebrated the mission of Equine Dreams (www.equinedreams.org) where Divine Mercy is lived every day through free Equine Assisted Activities, adaptive faith formation, and the unwavering commitment of volunteers. Attendees left with a renewed conviction that when we welcome the most vulnerable, we don’t just change their lives—we encounter Christ, and He changes ours.
